Bushwick: NYC's Capital of Cool

Writer: Hank OrensteinHank Orenstein

Bushwick, Brooklyn - Photos from my September 29th walking tour - filled with street art, and interesting places to shop, eat and drink. Along Bushwick avenue you will find mansions and clapboard houses from the 19th century and churches that harken back to the era when there were at least a dozen breweries. There is a new "sub-neighborhood" arising on the site of the Rheingold brewery which functioned from the 1850's until the 1970's.
